I am a Voice Coach with 15 years experience as a qualified Speech and Language Therapist specialising in the area of vocal feminisation and modification at St Peters Hospital, Surrey. During this time, I introduced a voice clinic working closely with the ENT consultants.
My work covered all parameters of voice, however, a great deal of my time was spent modifying and feminising voices for the transgender community. I also worked with people who required surgical voice restoration (SVR) for Head and Neck Cancers and for this I was MacMillan trained. I gained a post graduate qualification in Counselling, to further support my voice work.
As a Voice Coach I offer a holistic approach and specialist vocal guidance treating each person in an individual style, tailored appropriately to their needs.
My aim is to modify, feminise and develop voices to their optimum, using specific vocal techniques, exercises and strategies. This, together with vocal counselling when required, ensures the most positive outcome for each individual.
Due to financial cuts in the NHS for the transgender voice service, I decided to start my own practice, which is called “All about Your Voice”, offering voice therapy sessions from an office in my home in Woking, Surrey. The LGBT charity SupportU have approached me regarding opening a practice as a Voice Coach for the transgender community in their offices in Reading. This will make my vocal feminisation and modification service more accessible. In addition to my voice coaching I will continue to give talks to LGBT groups and charities.
