Based in London but originally from Spain, Nico is a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist who works in both English and Spanish. Nico has been working as a therapist for eighteen years, with over ten years in his own practice, and he has collaborated with various charities and third sector organisations. He is trained in integrative humanistic approaches to counselling, meaning that he works flexibly and responsively with clients, using various approaches according to the issues each individual brings along.
Nico has several years of experience working with people who are struggling with their gender identity, no matter where they are in their process. He aims to provide a safe space where clients can explore their true feelings and begin the process of inner change. He encourages his clients to define their gender identity in the way that best fits them, not the way society says they should be. He also works with parents, family members and friends who are supporting people who are working through gender identity issues.
As well as his specialist interest in gender identity, Nico has successfully treated a broad range of patients with varied, interconnected issues and problems, in particular family relationships, addiction and recovery and childhood trauma, including sexual abuse.
