I am an experienced person-centred counsellor who has worked within a variety of settings including the NHS, private practice and community wellbeing centres. My own journey with counselling began in 2000 when I faced a traumatic event and counselling helped me manage the fallout. This opened my eyes to the ways in which the discipline can help and empower people and I became passionate about using it to help others.
Many years later, I am privileged to have helped many people with their own journeys and I have seen the positive impact it can have. This makes me even more passionate about the safe space of the counselling relationship.
Within counselling sessions, clients can talk about any problems or obstacles they may be facing, I create a space of acceptance, devoid of judgement with the goal of empowering individuals to help them to move forward. I specialise in a range of issues including: depression and anxiety, bereavement and loss, relationship issues, gender identity, fertility and miscarriage.
I keep abreast of current issues and I seek out regular professional development so that I can improve my skills and best serve my clients. I have also had specific training with regards to working remotely via video and telephone counselling sessions.
