With many professionals advocating a wait and see approach, what advice do parents give?

‘We “watched and waited” for 6 years while our child became depressed & withdrawn. By age 9 they’d made changes themselves (hair, clothes, using a different name, using toilets etc.) We had to support. The alternative, FORCING them to be someone they’re not would be abuse.’
