If you are waiting to receive a recommendation or prescription please see below  🙂

The majority of our members really love our new system for its ease and speed, but some others have found the change harder.

If you are waiting to get what you need read here:

First Prescription
    • Fill in this form – choose I am waiting to start – make sure the email address you provide is the one associated with your subscription (payment)  or we won’t be able to find you.
    • Make sure you have paid your set-up fee – £195
    • Make sure you have had your consent session – IGS for over 16s, Capacity to Consent for under 16s
Repeat Prescriptions
      • Fill in this form – choose I am already a member – make sure the email address you provide is the one associated with your subscription / payments or we won’t be able to find you.
    Bespoke Queries
      • If you want to request something different to the Treatment Recommendation given by our algorithms then please book a consultation with a doctor to help you individually.
      • If you have recently left genderGP, our door is always open. You can resubscribe here, fill in an application form and receive your medication and prescription as you wish. If you feel we let you down then I am sorry, I know we had teething problems that have since been solved. You really can try us again and you will get a different super easy experience..

    Here is what holds things up:

    We can see that there are frustrated people who are saying that they are still waiting for a prescription – if you are one of them please fill in the form and tell us what you need – even if you have previously filled it in – we need the form to create your recommendation.

    What goes wrong:

      • Not giving us the email address that you use with your Stripe subscription / payments – it means we can’t locate your account. If you don’t know which email account you use then search your email inboxes for your Stripe receipt and that will tell you.
      • Not choosing your pharmacy option – everyone gets a Treatment Recommendation to give to your doctor to help them help you. If you need a prescripton we can refer you to one of our independent prescribers and you can tell us which chemist option you want to use.
      • Not choosing the medication you want to have recommended – if you are not sure which medications you need to choose, please book with an advisor or doctor here.  Or you can visit our Knowledge Base and search for the information you need.
      • Choosing the wrong option at the start of the form – if you have never previously received a recommendation then choose the first option  – ‘I am wanting / waiting to start’. If you have been receiving medication already via our service then choose ‘I am already a member’

    Treatment Recommendations are created immediately, as soon as the form is submitted, so as long as we can locate your account and as long as the fees are correct and your sessions are up to date, your recommendation will be with you the next working day. 

    If you have requested a prescription from one of the Independent Prescribers then electronic tokens are created as soon as the doctor has evaluated and approved the recommendations, usually within one day. Allow two weeks for paper prescriptions to reach you.

    If you are waiting – fill the form in again!


      • We know that this care should be available to you from your public health service or insurer, but sadly it is not.
      • Your GenderGP subscription fee covers the technology and software that creates your bespoke Treatment Recommendation – please make sure we have the email address associated with your subscription.
      • If you want to be referred to our Independent Prescriber to create your prescription the fee is £15 and this covers their fee and an electronically signed prescription.
      • If you want your prescription wet-signed, and posted to your home address the fee is £20.

    📢 Managing GenderGP Payments 📢

    Exciting news! We vastly increased our processing times, making it quicker than ever to access the care you need. But we’ve noticed a few speed bumps along the way, mainly regarding email addresses and payments. Here’s how to zip past these hurdles:

    1️⃣ Check your payment email: Make sure your payments match the email addresses you provided in your form. This allows our system to locate your payment at lightning speed.

    2️⃣ Use the correct email address: If you have paid but used a different email, no worries! Just visit our Help Centre and resubmit your form using the correct email address and include your payment email there if it differs. 

    3️⃣ Subscription Smarts: For any subscription tweaks, hop over to our Customer Portal powered by Stripe. Update your payment email or start a fresh with a new subscription.

    4️⃣ Did you use Apple or Google Pay? Your default email  might be different, simply submit a new request in our Help Centre using that email address as your payment email.

    5️⃣ Wondering why we’re all about email addresses? They’re universal, unique, stable and play nice with all platforms. 

    6️⃣ Got outstanding fees? No problem! Head over to our Subscription and Payments page to square things up. 

    7️⃣ We’ve got this! Once you have provided us with your correct email addresses, our system will locate your payment and get things moving pronto!

    ❣️Service Update: Pharmacies in Sweden Dispensing GenderGP Prescriptions❣️


    We are really sorry to hear of the issues being experienced by members seeking to obtain their medication from pharmacies in Sweden. 

    To update you on the current situation, we are in contact with the Swedish Medicine Agency Lä and are aware that they have received questions from pharmacies about fulfilling GenderGP prescriptions. We have directly offered the Swedish Medicine Agency the opportunity to validate our processes and prescribers. All our prescribers are legally able to prescribe and your prescriptions should be dispensed to you.

    There is no specific form or format for a prescription used in another EU country.The prescription you have received already contains enough information for you to use it in EU countries. 

    • Patient details: surname and first name (both written in full), and date of birth
    • Date of issue of the prescription
    • Details of the prescribing doctor: surname and first name (written in full), professional qualification, direct contact details, work address (including the country), and signature (written or digital)
    • Details of the prescribed product: its common name (rather than the brand name, which may be different in another country), format (tablet, solution, etc.), quantity, strength and dosage.

    If you are still having difficulties, please note that many of our members visit neighbouring countries to have their prescriptions filled, but rest assured we are working on helping the pharmacies feel reassured in dispensing to you.

    • New Member Enrolment – Waiting Time from Information Gathering Session being complete to receiving your prescription/Treatment Recommendation.
    • Existing Member – Repeat Prescription where no review is required: You’ll know exactly how long it will take to receive your repeat prescription where you have not requested a review.
    • Existing Member – Treatment Review of Blood Results: Get insights into the waiting time for your treatment review following review of your blood tests.

    We believe that arming you with this information empowers you to better navigate your journey with us. Our goal is to put you in the driver’s seat, giving you control and confidence every step of the way.

    Service Update from Dr Webberley – Founder of GenderGP


    Dear Members,

    I wanted to personally share some information about GenderGP – the past, the present and the future! I started GenderGP in 2015 when I met my ‘first’ transgender patient whilst working at a GP Surgey in Wales. I soon realised that the care that trans people were receiving was severely lacking, and that many people were actually facing frank prejudice, discrimination and harm. I made it my mission to help improve the care of trans people across the world, and so GenderGP was born.

    The number of people we have been able to help has escalated and we now help over 12000 active members from over 40 different countries. We have faced our challenges, and have had our ups and downs, but we are firmly behind what we stand for. We believe that every trans person has the right to be able to access gender-affirming care, when they are ready for it, and to receive care that is empathetic, safe and supportive.

    The demand for the services that GenderGP provides has always been just about higher than the team can manage, and although we are tremendously proud of what we have achieved, we understand that many of you have to wait for answers and responses and appointments and prescriptions, when you want a reply straight away.

    Over the years several updates to the systems have been made, always focusing on automation and efficiency and helping as many people as possible, as swiftly as possible and as safely as possible while keeping prices low. Our fees have not increased in all the time we have been alive!

    We are aware that our members are currently facing an increased waiting time for responses, and as a result, we have once again updated our systems to help you get what you need sooner.

    As a result of this, to help you more efficiently, new intake forms have been developed, to help you provide the information that is needed, all in one go and allow your request to be processed with ease.

    We have also created this Knowledge Base with all the information from your most frequently asked questions. If you can’t find your answer and need personalised advice then we have a team of lovely people waiting to talk to you.

    We have taken the brave move to turn off our open access Help Desk which takes so much of ours and our time, going back and forth with messages – we are working on a system to automate the answers you need.
