Dr. Beth Jones, a senior lecturer and researcher at Nottingham Trent University, is looking for participants to take part in a new study exploring the experiences of young trans and gender-diverse people during the coronavirus pandemic.

The study is especially interested in trying to understand the role that family of choice has played during this period and how the study’s learnings might help improve support within these groups. ‘Family of choice’, sometimes also called ‘chosen’ family or ‘found family’, refers to a community of people who are unrelated by blood but form a family structure through shared experiences and mutual support. In the LGBTQ+ community, this often refers to a family formed through shared experiences of gender and sexuality.

Anyone wishing to take part in the study must be trans or gender diverse and aged between 16 and 25 years old. The interviews will be conducted online and will last about 45 minutes to an hour. As a thank-you, all participants will receive a £10 Amazon voucher.
