Watch the recording of the GenderGP Facebook live stream discussing the Tavistock and Portman ruling.
On Thursday December 3rd, Dr Helen Webberley and Lead therapist Marianne Oakes held a discussion and Q&A live on GenderGP’s Facebook page.
The pair discussed the impact of the court ruling and answered questions on what the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust ruling means for trans youth, how this will impact GenderGP service users, what is being done to help the community and how you can support young trans people.
We recorded the livestream so that those who were unable to watch live, can view on catch up.
The livestream is available on the GenderGP Facebook page which you can view and share here.
It is available to download as an episode of the GenderGP podcast.
If you wish to know more about the GenderGP Fund mentioned in the livestream, you can find more information here.
If you want to take action to support trans youth, we have a petition asking for improvements in trans healthcare here.
If you have any questions about how GenderGP are continuing to provide healthcare services to trans youth following the court ruling, or wish to find out more about the service, please contact us using our contact page here.
I so wish that I had been given proper guidance and support when I was in my teens.
I am a 55 year old transwoman currently registered with the GIC London and I have got to this stage through many years of emotional conflict caused by my gender dysphoria.
The media are quite simply simpletons and havent the faintest idea what a gender dsyphoria experience is like and how it is such an individual, significant and powerful experience.
Thanks for Gender GP and other supportive Gender organisations.
